MINGO TRAILS DISTRICT - Information on Awards and Nominations

THE MINGO TRAILS HONOR AWARD

This award is a district award of the Mingo Trails District, and is given on the basis of outstanding performance and service to youth through Scouting, with consideration given to service at the unit and district level. Recipients of this award are chosen by the awards committee of the Mingo Trails District.

REQUIREMENTS:

1). The nominee must be a registered Scouter.

2). The nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth. The nature and value of "noteworthy service to youth" may consist of a single plan or decisions that contributed vitally to the lives of large numbers of youth or it may have been given to a small group over an extended length of time. The emphasis is on Scouting services performed.

3). The nominee should have contributed some service to youth outside of Scouting.

4). Consideration should be given to the nominee's position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding service beyond the expectation of duty.

5). The nominee's attitude toward and cooperation with the district and/or council is to be taken into consideration.

THE MR. AND MRS. AWARD

The Mr. and Mrs. Award is a Mingo Trails District Award presented to a husband and wife team who are recognized for outstanding service to youth through Scouting. Consideration is given to service and participation at the unit and district level. Both must be registered Scouters, but not necessarily in the same unit, for a minimum of two(2) years by January 31, 2005. Recipients of this award are chosen by the Awards Committee of Mingo Trails District.

THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE FOUNDER AWARD

This award is a Mingo Trails District Award presented to a Scouter who has done an outstanding job in the past year by January 31, 2005 in one the following sections of Scouting: Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and District. One award will be presented in each section. Recipients of these awards will be recommended by their fellow Scouters and will be chosen by the Awards Committee of Mingo Trails District.

THE YOUNG SCOUTER AWARD

The nominee must be between the age of 18 and 21 years and must have contributed outstanding service to his/her unit. Recipients of this award are chosen by the Awards Committee of Mingo Trails District.
