FIRST AID COMPETITION
REGISTRATION: 9:00
a.m. - 9:30 a.m. PREREGISTRATION ON FEB 19TH WILL EARN 2 POINTS
COMPETITION TIMES: 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Each team will have at least
four members and shall have no more than eight members. The judge shall
designate the victim.
- Contestants should report to
the competition area, in the main lobby of the Washington Crown Center
Mall, at 9:55 a.m., and return at 12:25 p.m.
- Teams should have with them
whatever first aid supplies and equipment they would have on a camping
trip where they would be at least a day's hike from cars. The competition
area is "barren" of items which might be pressed into service
as splints and the like.
- Trophies will be awarded to
the top three teams.
- Scoring:
Each judge will have a list of points for scoring each problem. A team
will score positively if appropriate actions are taken and will lose
points for errors or for failure to complete the problem in time.
*In addition, the judge will have the ability to add or subtract up
to three points on each problem on the basis of a subjective evaluation
of the team's performance.
- After the competition has begun,
the composition of the team may not be altered except that a member
may be deleted.
- The judge assigned to evaluate
the team is the "call for help" person.
- The BSA First Aid Merit Badge
Book is the official reference book.
- A question over a ruling should
be raised immediately after the problem is concluded. If not, it is
waived.

Any additional rule deemed
needed will be made known before the beginning of the first game on
Saturday.

THE DECISION
OF THE JUDGES REGARDING ALL MATTERS IN THE CONDUCT OF THE COMPETITION
SHALL BE FINAL.

that while they are striving for victory, the ultimate goals are participation,
competition, increased knowledge, and good sportsmanship
