RULES FOR
SCOUT MANIA - BSA TRIVIA
- Two
teams will compete at one time. A team shall consist of no more than
four players. The composition of the team may not be altered (except
for the deletion of a member) after the competition begins.
- Questions are
all Scout related. Questions are taken from, but not limited to, Scout
Handbook, Fieldbook, Merit Badge Pamphlets, Skill Award Pamphlets, Insignia
Guide, Boys Life, Scout Camps, Scouting Events, patches, songs, and
any and all trivia pertinent to Scouting.
- This game is
designed to be fun. When playing, remember the 12 points of the Scout
Law and the Scout Oath.
- The decisions
of the judge(s) are final.
- Each game is
broken into four (4) rounds:
First Round - Each question is worth 5 points. This round will
last 5 minutes in the regular game, 10 minutes in the final.
Second Round - Each question is worth 10 points. This round will
last 7 minutes; 10 minutes in the final round.
Third Round - 1 Question worth 25 points.
Fourth Round - This is a speed round with point values of 10
for 3 minutes.
- If a team rings
in but answers before being called to answer or a team answers but did
not ring in first, the value of the question is deducted from their
score.
- Each team has
a captain. After each question, the captain has 10 seconds to get the
answer from his team and give it to the M.C. (Master of Ceremonies)
- Any additional
rule deemed needed will be made known before the beginning of the first
game on Saturday.
- The competition
shall begin at 2:30 p.m. All teams should report to the Scout Mania
competition area by 2:25. Posting of competition times will be at 2:00
p.m.
- Trophies will
be awarded to the top three teams overall.
