MALL SHOW PINEWOOD DERBY STAFFING

THE ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE IS REQUESTING EVERY UNIT TO PROVIDE AT LEAST 1 ADULT TO ASSIST WITH THE DISTRICT PINEWOOD DERBY AT WASHINGTON CROWN CENTER. WE CANNOT CONDUCT A SUCCESSFUL DISTRICT RACE WITHOUT YOU.

CHOOSE A STAFF POSITION FROM THE LIST BELOW AND REGISTER WITH ADAM GALAMBOS

STEERING COMMITTEE - The Lead from each work station will be on this committee.

TRACK TEAM - (12 staff)
- RACE TRACK PREPARATION - Retrieve the race track from storage; inspect all the track sections and inventory all parts; make repairs as necessary; work with SCORING to connect and test all electric and computer connections; acquire movie screen for race projection; deliver and set up the track and all peripheral equipment at the race site; break down and pack up the track for delivery back to storage.
- STARTING LINE - work with registration to create numbered stickers for pits; work with INSPECTION to establish the pit area; work with RACE TRACK PREPARATION to establish starting line space and procedures; stage and load the starting line for each race; set up and break down your station.
- FINISH LINE - maintain crowd control and track boundaries; ensure all racers are seated track-side and understand they are responsible for returning their cars to the pits; set up and break down your station

SCORING (2 staff) - Use DerbyMaster software to drive the registration and scoring system; work with RACE TRACK PREPARATION to test the track connections; work with REGISTRATION to get all racers entered and correctly numbered; provide laptop computer and projector to display the race results; set up and break down your station


REGISTRATION (8 staff) - track all registration forms and enter all scouts into the DerbyMaster database; staff the registration table at the race site; work with SCORING to create numbered stickers for entrants and resolve any last minute changes to the database during race day registration; check race cars against photos of previous year winners; set up and break down your station


INSPECTION (6 staff) - arrange all inspection equipment needed; establish a unified understanding of rules enforcement by all inspectors; ensure all units have distributed the rules to all scouts in the district; set up and break down your station

REPAIR SHOP (4 staff) - acquire all tools and materials needed to repair a pinewood derby car including spare wheels and axles; work with INSPECTION to repair any cars that fail; work with STARTING LINE to repair any cars that break; set up and break down your station.
